Our Code of Conduct sets out what we consider to be ethical, responsible and sustainable behavior. It applies to everyone involved in HJH’s business. Along with our purpose, vision and values, it forms the basis of our business ambitions and activities.
We expect our customers to conduct business in a fair, ethical and lawful manner, as set out in our general terms and conditions.

Introduction to HJH shipmanagement’s Supplier Code of Conduct
As reflected in the HJH shipmanagement GmbH & Co. KG Values, HJH shipmanagement GmbH & Co.KG (hereafter “HJH”) are committed to the highest standards of business integrity, service quality and sustainability. We are committed to adhering to and actively promoting the principles of the United Nations Global Compact relating to human rights, labour standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption.
The sustainability and ethical standards to which HJH is committed also extend to our relationships with suppliers. To ensure that our suppliers meet and support these expectations they are expected to adhere to this Supplier Code of Conduct.
The general principles of our Supplier Code of Conduct are:
1: National laws and regulations
We expect suppliers to conduct its business in full compliance with the governing laws, rules and regulations and the Supplier Code of Conduct.
2: Anti-curruption and fair business practises
We expect suppliers to conduct their business with honesty and integrity and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning bribery and corruption including any payment or other form of benefit conferred on any government official for the purpose of influencing decision making, withstanding from arranging or accepting kickbacks, granting of unfair advantages and gifts and hospitality, fraud and any other prohibited business practices.
In addition, we expect them to comply with all applicable antitrust laws, and to refrain from participating in price fixing, market or customer allocation, market sharing or bid rigging with competitors; and keeping information confidential as required.
3: Human and labour rights
We expect suppliers to ensure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses. Fundamental workers’ rights, as expressed in the ILO Conventions, and decent working conditions must be respected.
4: Health and safety
We expect suppliers to provide a safe and hygienic working environment and to manage Health & Safety systematically in accordance with international standards for Health & Safety management, adapted to the supplier’s size and complexity of operations.
5: Environment
We expect suppliers to manage environmental risks systematically in accordance with international standards for environmental management, adapted to the supplier’s size and complexity of operations.
We expect suppliers to wherever possible apply a precautionary approach to environmental matters and working to minimize the negative environmental impact of their operations, products and activities.
In addition, we expect suppliers to take the initiative in reducing single-use plastics in their supply chains. When providing goods to HJH, we expect suppliers to take a sustainable approach towards managing packaging waste, to reuse or recycle plastic waste whenever possible.
6: Management System
We expect suppliers to adopt or establish a management system whose scope is related to the content of this Code.
7: Information security and personal data protection
We expect suppliers to comply with any relevant laws and regulations on Personal Data Protection.
Furthermore, we expect suppliers who have access to sensitive information to actively protect this information against the unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, inspection, recording and destruction. They are therefore expected to establish own relevant information security policies and procedures.
8: Supply chain
We expect suppliers to have a process to communicate requirements equivalent to this Supplier Code of Conduct to their suppliers.
9: Reporting misconduct
We encourage our suppliers who believe that a HJH employee, or anyone acting on behalf of HJH, has engaged in illegal or otherwise improper conduct, to report the matter to us.
